If the accident wasn't your fault and we can help, we'll arrange support through specialist recovery, repair and vehicle-hire companies. That can include collecting your damaged car, getting it repaired and arranging a like-for-like replacement car to keep you mobile, subject to availability. You may also avoid paying your policy excess. If you take a replacement car, the hire company will be your main contact and explain your hire agreement.
Yes. You should notify your insurer about the accident, even if you use Claimsline and do not claim through your own policy. Reporting the accident and asking your insurer to handle the claim are separate steps.
Vehicle repair bills and replacement-car hire charges may become your responsibility under the agreement if you are found to be at fault, liability is disputed or costs cannot be recovered. The repair company or hire company will explain the charges and when you could have to pay before you agree.
An eligible non-fault claim is handled against the at-fault party's insurer rather than your own policy. This can help avoid an excess payment and protect your no-claims bonus, subject to your policy and the accident circumstances. You still need to notify your insurer, who decides whether the accident affects your renewal premium.
Yes. Call 0330 912 4694 to speak to our team about what happened and the help you need. Have your registration number and the other driver's details to hand if you have them.
If your non-fault case is accepted for credit hire or credit repair, you do not pay the agreed hire or repair charges upfront. The hire company or repair provider seeks to recover those charges from the at-fault party's insurer. Your agreement explains when you could have to pay them yourself, including if fault is disputed or the charges cannot be recovered.
You can still contact us. Tell us what happened and share any photos, witness details and information from the other driver. We'll check whether we can help arrange recovery, repairs or a replacement car. Those arrangements depend on the circumstances and whether your case can be accepted for non-fault support; contacting us does not commit you to a hire or repair agreement.
