Claimsline Group Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority in respect of regulated claims management activities (FRN 831196).

Claimsline Group Ltd is a claims management company and receives a referral fee for introducing customers to a solicitor. Any solicitor we recommend you to is an independent professional from whom you will receive impartial and confidential guidance. You are free to choose another solicitor.

You are not required to use a claims management company to make a personal injury claim. It is possible to present the claim yourself for free, either directly to the person you wish to claim against, or through an authorised person such as a solicitor. For some lower-value road traffic injury claims, eligible adults who were driving or travelling as a passenger in a vehicle may be able to use the Official Injury Claim service to make a claim themselves for free. The accident must have happened in England or Wales, and eligibility and claim-value limits apply.

Every bus accident is different. Your injuries, recovery and lost earnings all factor in.

Common questions

Bus accident claims FAQ

Everything you need to know about making a bus accident claim. Can't find your answer? Call us on 0333 006 8282.

If someone else caused your bus accident, whether you were a passenger, pedestrian, or another road user, you absolutely deserve compensation. Bus companies have a legal duty of care to keep you safe. When they fail, they pay.

We see passengers dealing with injuries, mounting medical bills, and time off work. None of that should be your burden. Call us on 0333 006 8282. It's No Win, No Fee¹.

Yes. Whether your bus crashed, braked suddenly, or you slipped getting on or off, if the accident wasn't your fault, you can claim as a passenger accident claim. The same applies to coach accidents and minibus incidents. Call us on 0333 006 8282 and we'll talk you through the next step.

Compensation depends on your injuries and circumstances. Minor head injuries typically range from £2,070–£11,980, while serious injuries can be worth much more. You can also claim for lost earnings, medical bills, and travel costs on top of injury compensation.

Yes. Every bus driver has a legal duty to keep passengers safe under the Public Service Vehicles Regulations 1990. If their negligence caused your accident, speeding, reckless driving, or failing to maintain the vehicle, the driver and their employer are liable.

Most local buses don't have seatbelts, so not wearing one won't affect your claim. On coaches where seatbelts are provided, not wearing one could reduce your compensation, but it won't prevent you from claiming entirely.

You have three years from the date of your bus accident to start your claim. Don't wait though, CCTV gets wiped, witnesses forget details, and evidence disappears. Get in touch as soon as possible to protect your right to compensation.

According to Department for Transport data (2023), 3,171 out of 189,815 road accidents involved buses or coaches, less than 2%. Minibus accidents were even rarer at just 314.

But when they happen, passengers often suffer serious injuries due to the size of the vehicle. If you've been hurt, you deserve compensation regardless of how rare these incidents are.
